The islands are located west of the continent, and specifically west of Dugle. The land is warm and tropical, with thick jungles and mountains. These islands appear in the fourth book, but are officially introduced in the fifth book. They are said to be uninhabited by humans, though there are some animals there, like lemurs, parrots, and chimpanzees. They are home to the creators, specifically the third and fourth islands, which are large enough to support the giants. The islands hold portals to the spirit realm, each watched over by guardians (half-spirit, half-mortal) that pass through the mortal and spirit realms as they please. These guardians include monkeys, leopards, tigers, trolls, snakes, cranes, dragons, and pangolins; each guardian has its own island.
