Desert

The desert is a small section in the middle of the continent. The land is hot and dry, with cracked grounds and many cacti. The land is said to be an isolated hell.
POWER AND SOCIETY
There's no single ruler in the desert, and even in the Oasis and Grass Settlements (the only areas where there are large populations), leaders don't exist. The people are mainly made up of thieves, murderers, and other bandits. They fight often amongst each other, as there's no order and it's every man for himself. The desert is a harsh place to live, and there are often droughts. Even in times where there is plenty of water to go around, the people will still fight each other to the death. People have fled to the desert from all over the land, seeking to be alone. Some people (mainly the few families that exist) will travel the land, not bothering to stay in one area for too long. The people of Grass Settlement aren't nearly as bad as those living at the Oasis Settlement, though there still isn't much order there, either.
ARMY
There's no existing army in the desert, though many small organizations of bandits exist. They will cause chaos, steal horses (which signify wealth), or kill their enemies as they please. One organization, however, sought to try and bring order to the desert, though in quiet. The Assassins of the Desert attempted to unite the people by assassinating the worst bandits and thereby bringing peace to the land. However, nobody knows if this organization still exists, as it wasn't too successful.
HISTORY
There isn't much history to the land, as it's simply an isolated place. People either flee there to escape their pasts and be left alone, or they're outlaws. Others merely travel through. Either way, the desert is a horrible place to live, which is constantly in a state of bloodshed. At the beginning of human time, there were several tribes with language unique to each one. These tribes, which were quite family-centered, moved on from the desert when thieves and murderers took over. They fled to Rupqer, as they weren't allowed in Dugle or the Kaster Lands (though some people died trying to fight their way in). Not all tribes ended up in Rupqer, and some still roam the desert quietly in the present time.
